JOB DETAILS - Director of Nursing Services RN BSN:
Responsible for the development/coordination and implementation of health and safety training for direct care personnel through formal classes and delegations.
Accountable for the company-wide coordination, intervention, and follow-up in the delivery of health services.
Responsible for overseeing adequacy of, and assessment of, nursing care company-wide, including ordered VNA services.
To oversee all aspects of providing nursing services by State licensing and board accreditation standards.
Assures compliance with health safety standards according to regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements on a company-wide basis.
Direct supervision of all duties and responsibilities of health services department personnel and contracted employees.
Responsible for completing special projects as assigned by the ED, in unison or collaboration with other departments.
Continue professional development through ongoing education and membership in professional organizations.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated successful professional experience in CT DDS nursing regulations, procedures, and other requirements.
Capability to organize, coordinate and promote teamwork approach within the department.
Collaborate on program plan development with measurable and pertinent goals and objectives.
Communicate effectively and work productively with staff, administration, and outside agencies.
Assess the physical status of assigned clientele and seek supportive services according to changes noted in status (either progress or deterioration).
Understand/instruct fundamental trends of medically-related interventions for assigned populations.
Provide leadership in company staff development and training on major trends and issues in the field of Intellectual and developmental disabilities and health/safety.
Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities.

- Pre-employment criminal background and driver's license checks are required.
Must be able to travel to various sites using both personal and agency vehicles Has attained a BSN and can demonstrate current CT RN license.
